SALT is still alive, though in the back seat for now...the Grand Opening of Book by Book is upon us, so I've been helping Rick, pricing, sorting, unpacking loads of books, generally trying to keep up morale (it's been quite exhausting!). On the SALT front, we are meeting with a manager from Hope Artiste Village next week regarding theater space--we would be sharing the space with two other theater groups: 1000 lb. Guerilla Theater and Elemental Theater. Both established, working groups who create/perform works with fingers on the cultural pulse. Atmosphere is Everything

Some. Things. Are. Proceeding. A. Bit. Slower. Then originally planned. Others screeming by...! Book by Book has a Grand Opening coming up on April 4, 5, and 6. Rick is planning to have a jazz duo come and play. And the kids are getting over the flu. Yuk.

And I am having a viceral response to another space at the Mill, I'm just calling it the space. It is wide open, tall, full of light--I can just picture acting going on there. We'll keep you posted.

Last Monday, we met at the bookstore as a small group and acted a piece that Victor wrote. Very meaty stuff! I told Victor that I like the way he writes...he sets up a scene--then goes in a completely different direction with the dialogue. Good stuff for actors to latch onto. James and I got to share some stage space--finally! Here's to more!

So Monday nights are now dedicated to a meeting time for actors/writers at the bookstore; probably 7 pm. on. If you're interested, come on down! Voila! SALT! At least until we move into the space.
